We should all do our bit to reduce our impact on climate change by making a few simple changes to our lifestyle. After all, climate change is a direct result of the way we consume energy. It affects us all.

Over 40% of the UK's carbon dioxide emissions, the main greenhouse gas which causes climate change, actually come from the energy we use every day - at home and when we travel.

Things like insufficient insulation, leaving lights on unnecessarily or overfilling the kettle all waste energy and result in easily avoidable carbon dioxide emissions.

If everyone with gas or oil central heating installed a new condensing boiler and full set of heating controls, we'd save around 6.7 million tonnes of carbon dioxide a year, as much as the annual emissions of 1.2 million homes.
